The End Is Nigh; A look back at 2016 and why I'm not really setting new years resolutions

What a year! What an absolutely ridiculously bizarre year!

The Huge Christmas List; The Globe Trotter

I don't think I have ever met someone who doesn't want to travel, or at least have a country they would love to visit. For me, travelling is an annoying little itch which never truly goes away just subsides for a month or two. If, like me, you know plenty of people who would rather jump on a plane than head to work tomorrow then here are some perfect gifts to at least keep them occupied or get them excited for their next adventure. I hope you enjoy.

The Huge Christmas List; The Busy Bee

Christmas List For Busy People
Some people are always on the go, I should know, I feel like I'm constantly dashing for one thing to the next without a minute to breath in between. If you know someone like this then this list is perfect for you. Sometimes the greatest gift you can ever give someone is something that allows them to have a few extra minutes because they know they have everything they could possibly need for their day ahead, so enjoy...

The Huge Christmas List; The Nesty Ones

I am definitely the type of person who loves to curl up on the sofa in my pjs with a cozy blanket and a magazine or good book in hand. I certainly think it is one of the only times I truly relax and switch off. So this list is suitable to anyone who would secretly rather be curled up on the couch than hitting the town (because lets be honest, everyone needs comfort).

The Huge Christmas List; The Fitness Fanatic

One of my favourite things about Christmas is getting people presents. I love nothing more than guilt free shopping, especially when it means I get to see my friends and families faces light up when they get the perfect gift. As it is now December I finally feel that I wont be criticised for discussing Christmas (mainly by my mum) and so it is suitable to start the gift giving discussion WAHOO!

Do As I Say and Not As I Do; When You Need To Stop

Time for a bit of an emotional post. I have been very absent on my blog recently, not because I wanted to be but more because I haven't had the time to be creating content or even taking pictures, which truly sucks!

Best Boots Around; My Favourite Boots This Season

I love Autumn, for me no season really compares! As it now comes to an end and winter feels like its creeping closer I couldn't help but find myself longing for a new pair of winter boots to see me through the cold coming months.

Visiting Lake Bled, Slovenia

Lake Bled, Slovenia

Wow where did September go?! There I was being all organised before I went away on holiday creating content for my blog then my life went and upturned and became so crazy busy that I only managed to edit my holiday photos this weekend over a month after I returned from my trip.

So way back (at the end of August), I went to visit Slovenia, a country who's location on a world map I could only guess at being in Europe and a place where the population is so small you can fit them all into London.

The Only Day Planner You Need

I love to organise, so much so that last year I decided to create my own day planner. For years I have been using WHSmiths ones but I started to feel like this wasn't enough any more so I decided to create my own.

Heading to University; Don't Stress!

Heading to University has to be one of the most daunting experiences I have ever had to do. Saying goodbye to all my life long friends and heading to a city where I had only visited a handful of times, live with people I didn't know and study a course which I hoped would allow me to work towards the career that I want was a scary prospect and so this year, now that I have started over 4 times because of my placements I thought I would share my top tips for starting University.

Beauty's Dark Secret; Animal Testing By Big Brands

An issue I have always had close to my heart is animal cruelty. That maybe quite clear to many people as I did a degree in Zoology and my passion for animals is second to none. Recently though, I have had a lot more time to consider what I wear from clothes to makeup and the more I learn the more shocked I am by the beauty world.

In today's world there should be no reason for testing on animals, in 2013 the EU banned cosmetic products that had been tested on animals which was a huge relief to many people. We know enough about how products work and the chemicals that have been put into a lipstick or eye shadow that the animal isn't required yet animal is still testing taking place!

Exploring Santorini; A walk from Fira to Oia

Setting of early we caught the bus from our hotel into the main town, Fira. The walk would take us around 2 hours with beautiful scenery along the way but as I had read on so many websites it's the thing to do, I felt the need to see what all the fuss was about.

How To Travel With Your Boyfriend/Girlfriend

Mykonos Sunset

Since returning from my holiday I've had so many people ask me if my boyfriend and I argued or fell out whilst we were away. It's funny because it's the last think I really think about when going away or at least once I'm actually on holiday.

Santorini- Do's and Don'ts

Everyone always has such magical things to say about the island of Santorini and I certainly felt like I was going with very high expectations because of this as well. In my mind everything needed to be perfect but there were numerous reasons it didn't quite live up to the dream I had in my head. I thought I would create a list of do's and don'ts so that you don't have to experience the island being a little disappointing.

View from Fira, Santorini

I'm not saying I would never go back to the island, but I learnt that it isn't really the place for a student to go, and it isn't the place to go if you want to use public transport, anyway here are my do's and don'ts.

Santorini; The Boat Trip

Oia, Santorini

Santorini, the Island of romance and sunsets had been on my wishlist for a long time. The idea of being immersed in beauty and the wonder of nature gives me a sheer thrill. Although we were only on the island for 3 days due to the awkward ferry times arriving and our midday flight back to the UK we certainly packed plenty in.

What To Do On Naxos, Greece

Naxos island is something of a paradise in Greece. The island is huge yet isn't a tourist trap. This is mainly due to the huge farming areas on the island. This in turn, means the food you eat is normally from the island and the prices have yet to rocket meaning students can actually afford to visit WAHOO!

The island is so much bigger than either Mykonos or Santorini  which is suprising as so many people have never heard of it. We didn't really have any idea where to begin exploring but after a few days we were sad to be leaving! Here are my top picks of the things we got up to...

Mykonos; The Best Remote Beaches to Visit

Beaches in Mykonos

Now, although I may have only visited Mykonos once and so my advice may seem a little bit eager, I can only write this post because on the third day in Mykonos we rented a quad bike and travelled around the island to find secluded beaches and lovely spots. By this I mean we may have crossed the island 4 times and seen pretty much every single beach in remote locations, so here are my favourite spots that we saw or passed on our day exploring the island!

Favourite Summer Piece; The Kimono

Zara Rust Kimono OOTD

I love Kimonos, they are such easy pieces to wear whether that be with a pair of jeans, a tight (black) dress or a pair of shorts and always seem to add to the outfit making it look a little more funky or classy.

Cocktail Tasting at the Alchemist

If you live near Manchester or Leeds, it's likely that you have heard of the Alchemist. If not, where have you been? It's well known for creating fun twists on cocktails making them not only unusual but also delicious. When I got to try their new cocktail menu, I felt it was only fair to share what I thought with you to!

Graduation Day; What University Taught Me

Graduating at the University of Leeds

I cant believe it is all over (well until my masters starting in September). Now that I have finally had time to draw breath I wanted to reflect on my time at university and what I learnt along the way. It has been a crazy four year journey and I am so thankful to every single person who played a part in creating such a fantastic experience, it hard to believe how far I have come and how much I have changed throughout my time at Leeds! University is by no means for everyone, it's a huge step to take especially due to the ridiculous cost it currently requires to attend but for me it was worth every penny.

As summer is meant to be here and graduation is just around the corner for me, (I am slowly starting to have my news feed filled with pictures of people in gowns) I felt it was about time I completed a blog post with my favourite pieces I found that could be options for graduation (or a nice summers do.)

So here is my pick of some of the best and most interesting festivals you can still grab a ticket to this summer...

How To Handle Long Haul Flights

Long haul flights in economy are never the most fun activity and unless you have a money tree (why haven't they invented one yet?) you are unlikely to be able to afford an upgrade but never fear, here are my top tips for the long trips, so you can spend your flight getting excited about your holiday and land feeling refreshed.

General Ramblings; Life Getting in the Way, Expectations Aren't Everything !

I've not writing a personal post in some time and now feels like the right time to explain where I've been, as I've been gone for quite some time. Writing this post feels so weird after having such a long break but yet it feels so good to finally have the motivation to sit behind my screen once again.

Eat Pasta Run Faster With Vapiano, Manchester

Vapiano Review Manchester

Its May (how is it May already?!) and so my excuses to avoid the gym have finally come to an end and I'm determined to get fit for summer!

Vapiano Review Manchester

Last weekend I had a meet up with the lovely blogging girls,  ElliePaula and Lily. Vapiano just so happened to ask us to take part in their healthy eating campaign called #EatPastaRunFaster as well which was perfect timing. The afternoon was filled with food, gossips, laughter, pictures and was certainly a lovely was to spend a Sunday evening.

My Top Tips for Skiing Trips; A Quick Ski Trip to Verbier

This Easter I was lucky enough to visit two of my good friends whilst they were on their season in Verbier, Switzerland. Having not been skiing for 3 years it certainly took me a day or two to find my ski legs, but, I  still managed to have an amazing time!

Date Night; Turtle Bay, Leeds

Last week for date night I used up a voucher I had won at Leeds RAG Fashion show which was a meal for two at Turtle Bay in Leeds. Recently everyone has been raving about it and I thought it was about time that I tested out the food and checked out what the fuss was all about.

Valentines Date Ideas...With a Twist

So as it's Valentines Day tomorrow, I brainstormed some ideas that I thought maybe fun to do this year. I know that living busy lives means fitting in something fun to do can become hard but that shouldn't stop you! Here are my favourite ideas to do, and even if you cant get any of them done this valentines day, they are still good fun to do for a date night what ever time of year.

1. Drive to the nearest beach at night and watch the sunrise-make sure you take a flask of hot chocolate!

2. Have an inside picnic, complete with mini sandwiches and lots of cake!

Image taken from here
3. Do something completely different, whether you go skiing, rock climbing or learn to knit together, as long as its fun you will both enjoy it!

Incoming; Leeds RAG Fashion Show!

This year I have the privilege to be working for Leeds RAG Fashion Show as part of the Fundraising team, meaning that I have been helping to raise the funds for our charities and to allow the show to be put on.

If you haven't heard of  LRFS then where have you been? It is one of the most highly anticipated events of the year at  Leeds University and in the city of Leeds in general. With 800 guests the night is filled with glamour, fun and naturally fashion.

Happy New Year; Goals and Resolutions for the year to come

Happy New Year to you all! I hope as you lie in bed or on the sofa watching tv that you're not feeling to fragile from all the celebrating that has taken place over the Christmas season.

Having looked back on the past year I feel like it's time to look to the future with some new years resolutions. I'm one of those annoying people who really do treat new year as the opportunity to try new things (even if they don't always stick) and so I thought that maybe sharing them would help keep me on the straight and narrow.
