Brand of the Week; Responsible Travel

I love to travel, I mean who doesn't but sometimes our travel choices aren't exactly great for the communities we pass through of the environments we explore. Finding a company who make a real effort to be more sustainable is so refreshing as its one industry that has so many things to consider. That is why Responsible Travel is the brand of the week (easy name to remember hey).

The companies beliefs are pretty simple really...

Treat local people well and find they return the favour and let you into a bit of their life and culture so you get a more rewarding experience and they benefit too. Meaning a win:win for Responsible Travel.

The moto follows that often mentioned for ecotourism in that "take only photographs and leave only footprints" which I feel has to be one of the most important sayings to take with you where ever you travel even in your own country.

Responsible travel have so many amazing trips but they are more than just your average holiday provider. If you choose to opt in they offer a trip for a trip where they help organised day trips for disadvantaged children in developing countries. One of these trips include taking children into a Game Park to see wildlife that they never had before. Their aim by 2020 is to have given 1 million children a great day out which is a phenomenal number!

The last think that makes Responsible Travel stand out from the rest of the travel agents is that they are active. They don't just sit by when something is wrong especially regarding irresponsible travel. Their activism  has led to partnerships with lots of local communities, NGOs, activist and people who think about tourism difference. Whether that be helping to keep orcas out of captivity or trying to put an end to unethical volunteering projects of which there are so many.

So here's to more ethical travel companies and a more sustainable future.

Love
Erin
