Superdrug Faketan- Review

I love having a tan, but sadly this year due to my masters, the opportunity to firstly have a holiday or secondly get out in the sun is exceptionally limited which is why this year I decided to try out some fake tans instead. Fake it till you make it, right?

I had previously tried St Tropez but on my reduced budget i needed to find something something else. Finding a budget product which is also cruelty free can be pretty difficult which led me to super drug.

I've been testing out their shampoo and conditioner for some time but for some reason had never tried their fake tan.

I was a little skeptical as it was only £4.99, which is such a bargin!

I first chose to test out the foam and applying the tan with a mitt, the tan went on really nice and easy and with two coats I had a good overall coverage.

I was a little worried that the tan maybe patchy as it didn't rub in super easily compared to other brands that I had used but, after sleeping in it and showering in the morning I was super impressed with the colour and how actually there was no patchiness at all! I did however feel a little sticky in bed as it took a while to dry. Having a warm summer night definitely didn't help.

My arm colour was the colour after application and following a shower so wasn't orange (to my relief!).

The coverage lasted for about 5 days and instead of coming of in flecks of skin which I used to sometimes find with St Tropez, the tan just gradually faded.

I continued to exfoliate towards the end and I've was not left with any patchiness which is a huge first for me with fake tan! Wahoo

Next up I tried the cream instead of the foam to see the coverage and difference.

Again I was pleasantly surprised although it did take quite a while to dry. The tan wasn't quite as dark as the mousse but that could be expected as I could only apply one layer instead of two. Due to the consistency it can be quite hard to tell where you have applied the tan however and this is definitely something to bare in mind.

The cream felt really nice, smooth and moisturising when applying it which was a really nice pleasant surprise. Although the tan wasn't quite so dark, it did manage to last nearly as long as the foam.  I think this was due to the gradual fading that takes place and how it doesn't leave you with patches.

Overall I was really impressed with both products, the mousse is my preference but that's just because it offers a slightly darker shade but, if wanted something to just top up my tan the lotion would definitely be my choice

Coverage 4/5
Application 4/5
Feel 3/5
Price 5/5
Overall =4/5

So for a low priced cruelty free product, this fake tan really did tick all the boxes! Hats off to superdrug, I am impressed!

What are your favourite fake tans? Have you tried this? Love
Erin
