Cruelty Free Makeup Review; NARS Laguna Bronzer and Too Faced Better Than Sex Mascara

My gosh where did February go?! This year really does seem to be flying by. Today's post is another beauty post. Both of the products I will be discussing have been recommended by numerous cruelty free shoppers and general beauty addicts. I thought it was only fair to test them out myself and see what I think, as I often find that sometimes products don't work as well as you would hope!

First up is NARS Laguna bronzer. This bronzer is one of NARS' best selling items and I can really see why. The pigment that the bronzer provides is amazing. I had been using a Clinique powder which has since been discontinued which although I liked, I never felt like the shade worked perfectly with my skin tone.

The NARS bronzer does not have this problem at all, my skin has a yellowy undertone and this seems to make me feel really radiant. Another large bonus is due to how pigmented it is, you really don't need very much at all to have the desired effect

My only downsides to this is that sometimes if my foundation isnt perfectly smooth and set, the powder can become patchy and, I do find that it will need reapplying if I don't set my makeup first thing (but I guess this is the same with many products).

At £29 is it quite expensive but for how long I'm expecting it to last, I would say that it is worth every penny.

Better than sex mascara is my next product to look at, this has been raved about and even rated the top cruelty free mascara on crueltyfreekitty and so I had to give it a try.

The brush has an hour like shape and doesn't clump at all on application which is brilliant. The colour is full and although it doesn't make my lashes as huge as other brands as I have used before, it still gives them plenty of lift. A love the tube colouring as well which makes the macara pretty easy to find in my very full makeup bag.

I do however have a little issue with this mascara in the way that it makes my eyelashes feel after 10 or so hours of wear. I find that it starts to become quite dusty, something I have never experienced with a mascara before. Although it doesn't really come off when I rub my eye, it doesn't really make my lashes feel great and makes me want to take all of my makeup off and start again if I'm going out at night instead of adding another layer.

It may only be a small thing but it certainly has affected my opinion. This isn't to say that I don't like the mascara, but sadly it hasn't lived up to my (high) expectations.

At £19 a tube this mascara is around mid range, would I buy it again? Maybe, but I would want to try out some other cruelty free mascaras first to help me make up my mind or which I prefer.
