So, if you haven't gathered from my last two posts I have
been to South Africa and have been up to some crazy things. This post is the
one I couldn't wait to write, mainly because I did stuff I would never dream
off and created some amazing amazing memories.
Our Trip to Jeffrey's bay on the BazBus was really short and
so we had arrived by 9am allowing is the whole day to do what we wanted. On the
bus we met two guys from the UK as well with whom we spent most of our trip
with. That is what is so good about the bus, you meet so many people that we
otherwise would never have met.
Once we arrived at J-Bay we went to a place called Nina's
that soon became our favourite spot! Their breakfasts are so delicious and
their evening menu is brilliant as well! After some food Charl and I headed to
our first surf lesson which was SO much fun. I have surfed before, but not in a
really long time, so to get up on a board was brilliant.
We were staying at Cristal Cove Hostel which was out of this
world, its so clean and the staff their especially Cindy and Dave are brilliant
and so so welcoming. After a lunch cooked at the hostel by one of the people
staying there (it was amazing) we went for a walk into town. Cristal Cove is on
the outskirts of town but it was perfect for everything we needed.
We then went
for a drink overlooking the sea before heading back for a 3 course meal at
Nina's that evening which was heavenly. That evening we played drunken jenga
where each piece has a dare/task/forfeit which you have to do for each piece you
pull out.
Dave worked on the bar, and make too many cocktails to count and it
was such a good night where we got to know 5 others that we ended up spending a
lot of time with.
The next day we headed back to Nina's followed by an
afternoon surf lesson with everyone from the night before. It was such a good
afternoon, even if we did end up surfing in the rain.
We played challenges on
the beach and I never knew just how tiring it was to sprint, carry a board and
surf back in could be! That evening after freshening up we headed to a
restaurant called the Kitchen Window.
Now if you ever go to South Africa and find
yourself Jeffrey's Bay, go to the Kitchen Window. They provide a free shuttle
pick up and drop off as well making it really easy to get to. The food was out
of this world.
We all shared the four deserts that the waiter picked for us and each one was melt in your mouth perfect! My favourite though, surprisingly was the Creme Brulee.
We had such a brilliant night, the atmosphere was perfect and relaxed with our waiter supplying plenty of food ideas and great conversation. It was the perfect end to our stay in J-Bay.
The next day we set off early on the BazBus for Plettenburg Bay which was a few hours away. We chose to say in Plettenburg Beach Front Accommodation which was great but, if you're wanting to meet other people it isn't a hostel more a hotel.
The first day we spent on the beach before heading back and getting ready to go for food.

The next day was the highest bridge bungee jump in the world standing at 216m.
After we had such a crazy morning we spent the rest of the afternoon lounging around on the beach before heading up to the town for food and a dance in one of the bars.
The next morning was our last morning at Plettenburg and we were up early for whale watching. We got to see quite a few dolphins and whales and just as we were about to head back into shore a humpback whale started bridging!
It was amazing to see and they are so much bigger than I could ever have comprehended.
Have you ever done a bungee or seen whales? What are your favourite holiday activities?
