Barry M Genie Lipstick and Maybelline Great Lash Mascara - Review

So i decided to write a double review this week, mainly because the products go so well with each other but also because they are a perfect addition to your going out bag.

 I have a love hate relationship with this packaging, it is so bold and bright that it really does say notice me, and in a makeup bag it would be really easy to find and also brings some happy brightness to your day, but part of me wonders if the packaging takes away from the products themselves by being so in your face. These colours also remind me of my early teen years where my bedroom was in fact both lime green and pink, so maybe that's really why I cant make up my mind.

 So first lets talk about the crazy Barry M lipstick shade genie. I first saw this product months ago but was slightly baffled by how it can work, but, my curiosity got the better of me and here we are. It is a little surreal rubbing your lips with a green lipstick but I was actually really impressed.

The colour on my hand is quite subtle and I expect that's because, although its green it, as said by Barry M, "magically turns your pout an ultra-long lasting personal shade of pink. It does this by adapting to the Alkaline in your lips."

I really liked the idea how no one else will look the same in the lipstick, which unlike MACs rebel shade that everyone owns, you have something affordable and individual from the high street. This product also felt really moisturising when on and so my lips felt glossed as well as tinted. 

The next product I decided to look at was the Great Lash Mascara by Maybelline. This product seemed to have really good reviews and I never really understood why until I tried it and boy I'm glad I did!

Nothing about this product to me seemed that different from any other mascara that I tried but for some reason it made me lashes feel and look thicker and longer without that awful clumping that happens with some mascaras which I was really impressed with!

 This product also seemed really long lasting as at the end of the day it took some serious scrubbing and makeup remover for it to leave my eyes which is perfect for a night out or if you're away in a hot climate.

Overall I was thoroughly impressed with both of these products.

With the Barry M Lipstick, I really think its great for day wear or light make up when you want a little something extra to add to your look.

The Great Lash Mascara really took me by surprise and I will be using it for nights out from now on! The reason I wont be using it all the time is that I prefer my mascara to be easily washed off at the end of the day which I find my current mascara (Clinique High Impact Mascara) does amazingly, but that's a very personal thing.

All I know is I have found two new products that will definitely be making reappearances and they cost me under £10 for both!! A real bargain.
