Brand of the Week; Patagonia

Patagonia, the brand which embodies sustainability was naturally going to be a brand of the week eventually. For those that know little about the brand apart from there vintage pieces are cropping up all over the 'edgey' market here's a little more information for you.

                Patagonia Fleece | £90                                    Patagonia Pocket Fleece | £110

Patagonia was a brand founded around sustainability and understanding the full supply chain of the brand and its this desire to be as transparent as possible that makes the brand so unique in the world of fashion.

               T Shirt | £25                                                    Romper | £90

As a brand though, Patagonia aspire to go above and beyond other companies because they want their products to last forever. This means that they provide a repair service for all of their garments allowing any product issues to be fixed, until they really are unmendable. Alongside this, at some of their stores they provide the opportunity to trade in old garments that are not worn for credit showing there is still value in old pieces as well. These items are then resold on at a reduced price to allow for fantastic still functioning garments to be given a new lease of life and this also means that you can grab an amazing garment at the fraction of the price!

                Bikini Top | £45                                              Sports Bra | £40

The repair service that Patagonia offers is a global scheme and they work with small independent shops and their own big warehouses to ensure that all clothes get mended in a timely fashion. You can imagine that this is pretty costly for the company and yet they continue to invest into this area more and more as a brand.

It's safe to say Patagonia is definitely different when compared to it's main competitors. The company even says they want to;
“Build the best product, cause no unnecessary harm, use business to inspire and implement solutions to the environmental crisis”.

               Backpack | £55                                                 Flask | £30

From working with fair trade products to donating money to help save national parks, the brand is a true advocacy for good which on its own is phenomenal. The fact that their products are so long lasting and well made makes the brand even more impressive.

So here's to hoping that Patagonia will have cause a ripple of change over the coming years so that garments are cared for and not just thrown away!

Love
Erin
