Brand of the Week; BOTTLETOP

The word 'sustainable' seems to be cropping up all over the place at the moment and this weeks Brand of the Week was inspired during my day trip to London for an interview. As I was sat on the bus we drove past a shop due to called BOTTLETOP. The brands store front had in big letters SUSTAINABLE and so naturally I was curious, so here's what BOTTLETOP is all about.

                                       Rio Enamel | £275                                               Bellani Enamel | £157
The brand started out as a collaboration with Mulberry where they were trying to support artisans in developing countres along with helping to fund education projects for the charitable foundation. It was this vision of doing good where new techniques from varying cultures and sustainably sourced materials come together that led to the brand being created.

You can probably guess one of the main materials used by the company but they don't just stick to what they know. They are constantly trying to identify new sustainable materials that they can use to be incorporated into their items.

                                           Mandy | £136.50                                              Dani Mini | £395
Along with the products they produce, they also work with contemporary artists and musicians to deliever incredible projects to help support the BOTTLETOP foundation.

The brand or charities ambition is clear: to work collaboratively to produce interesting and fashionable garments which can help the charity further their goals of helping people in "communities needing employment and to protect the fragile resources of our planet".

Although the brand is not cruelty free they still aim to be be sustainable by only sourcing their leather from farms that actively protect the rainforest or upcycling ring pulls.

                               Amazonia Mini Enamel | £185                                 Luisa | £276.50
The ability for a brand to be created soley for the charity and still be fashionable and interesting I believe demonstrates how sustainability really can lead fashion forward and I for one hope that more brands emerge who make fashion and every day life, that little bit more interesting.

What do you think of BOTTLETOP? Do you like their garments?

Love
Erin
